On a periodic basis, I update this site with new pictures, and as more and more images get added to the site, it can be hard to keep up with what's new and what's not.  To facilitate the occasional visitor, I've developed this New Images page as a 'temporary residence' for recent photos.  As time goes by, I'll move the new images to their rightful homes and load up a new batch .. hope you all enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoy taking them .. !

Summer Wildlife on the Eastern Shore

The woods, wetlands and creeks are active with abundant wildlife - the Egrets of Kings Creek are plentiful and almost never fail to put on a summer display.    Many thanks to Dave & Carol Stone for taking me into the many little inlets of the Creek  and for giving me to opportunity to get "up close and personal" with the Egrets, Herons and Ospreys of our Eastern Shore.

I could never find the fox dens this Spring so no baby foxes this year,

Bay Creek Golf and Flower Images

 Spring is a wonderful season at Bay Creek.  The flowers start making their
appearance in March and the bloom  continues strong until the summer appearance of
the daisies, cornflowers, and the hydrangeas.  While all this is going on, the winter browns
that dominate the golf course landscape over the winter give way to lush fairways and
thickening rough (I can do without the latter!!)

Fisherman's Island

 Located at the southern tip of Virginia's Eastern Shore about seven miles below Cape Charles,
this National Wildlife Refuge is host to migrating birds, including unbelievable flocks of tree swallows,
and raptors as they work their way north or south depending on the season.  The following images
are from a trip in late November, 2008
